Reflections | A Journey of Tacos, Community, and Gratitude

As we wrap up another epic food truck season here at Taco Monster, we can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to our incredible community for making 2024 one for the books! Whether you caught up with us at one of the many public events we attended or had us cater your special celebration, your support has helped our little taco truck roll through yet another exciting year.

This season, we had the privilege of popping up at some of Red Deer and Central Alberta’s most beloved events, like Westerner Days, the Capstone Night Market, Touch-A-Truck, Canada Day Celebrations, and even local rodeos! We were able to sling our “scary good” tacos while soaking up the vibrant energy of each event. But beyond these bustling public gatherings, we also set up for private catering at weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, and corporate events. Serving at customer and staff appreciations has been a true highlight—we love being part of your big moments!

One of the most meaningful aspects of our journey has been our opportunity to give back to the community. This year, we proudly partnered with the Red Deer Food Bank, Red Deer Pickleball Club, Canadian Blood Services, United Way, Petro Canada Red Deer, and the Mustard Seed. It’s been an honor to connect our passion for tacos with causes that make a real impact. From building community to raising awareness and feeding hungry mouths, these partnerships have made this season even more special.

As we reflect on 2024, we can’t help but think back to where it all started. It feels like just yesterday we set up downtown for our food truck grand opening. June 2, 2020—a sunny Tuesday morning. Our team was hard at work, prepping for our very first service. About 30 minutes before we opened, a line started to form, and little did we know that moment would be the start of something bigger than we ever imagined. Now, with our restaurant in Gasoline Alley and visions for even more locations, it’s clear that none of this would have been possible without the unwavering support of our community.

So, from all of us at Taco Monster—thank you! We are grateful beyond words for every taco order, every smile, and every opportunity to serve you. Here’s to another amazing season, and we can’t wait to see what’s cooking for 2025! Stay hungry, Red Deer!
